| Dark Boar is a Viking-theme reenactment group based in Central California with members from Stockton, Livingston, Columbia and all points in between. We all share the enjoyment of ren faires and recreating history through arts, crafts and music. The focus is the years of Viking expansion, roughly from the 8th to 11th Century, commonly known as the "Viking Age". At first glance, you'll probably think,"they sure have alot of weapons & armour!", but take a closer look at our encampment. Most of what you see is crafted by Dark Boar members. Seems like when we're not at an event, we're getting ready for the next one, making new shields, banners, even hand-carved spoons! |

| "The Highlander Warriors is a family oriented Clan/Guild representing the Scottish Highlands of old. We're not only looking for able bodied men to become sword-fighting Warriors, but reliable, dedicated, hard-working, and respectful people who simply have a love of Scottish History and Culture. The Guild can always use the support of people with skills such as seamstresses, wood-working, metal-working, historical crafts, involvement in theater, fundraising & knowledge of non-profits, etc. You don't need prior training with a sword, or prior involvement with a Guild to become a member. You'll receive the training and information necessary (how to dress, etc) to become a proper Scottish Highlander. And while we understand that your family, job, and school come first, remember that you get back what you put in.
During the Games/Faire Season (typically March - November), the Highlander Warriors practice on Saturdays in Fremont. At most events, we represent the Scottish Highlands of the mid-1500's, but have done re-enactments dating back to 843 AD and as late as 1745.
If becoming a part of an extended family where the Warriors are also gentlemen, and the Lasses are ladies, then contact the Guild Master, Richard Brown, for more information. www.diarmid.com or richardl.brown@comcast.net" |

| Kumpania Paramicha is a new gypsy guild in Southern California that is based loosely on Romani traditions and beliefs. The Kumpania is a rag-tag clan of people simply trying to survive life on the road. We dance, sing, tell stories, read palms, juggle - whatever strikes your fancy.
As part of the faire, it is our job to make the customers smile and feel welcome. We may play games around the shire, perform short skits, and/or take part in improvisation, taking the time to interact with the customers directly. We enjoy pulling both patrons and fellow participants into whatever mischief we may be creating.
